Beat! Beat! Beat! is a German rock band from Viersen . Their music is described as a mixture of indie and guitar rock with synth pop and shoegazing .
Band history
The band members knew each other because they attended the same school. In 2006 - at the age of 16 - the four founding members Joshua Gottmanns ( vocals , guitar ), Moritz Leppers (guitar, synthesizer ), Tim Gerke ( bass ) and Marius Lauber ( drums ) began to make music together. The band Beat! Beat! Beat! , who released the debut EP Stars in 2009. It was mastered by Larry Reid, guitarist of the British indie rock band The Cinematics . The British music magazine NME called the band "the German answer to the Foals ". This was followed by appearances all over Germany and a recording contract with the Berlin independent label Richard Mohlmann Records . On October 22nd, 2010 the debut album Lightmares , produced by Dennis Scheider, was released.
In autumn 2010 they were nominated as the "Best Plan B" act for the largest German radio prize, the 1Live Krone , and together with Dendemann they achieved second place.
