Roosevelt (born on September 2, 1990 in Viersen , North Rhine-Westphalia as Marius Lauber ) is a German singer , musician , songwriter and producer . He's signed to City Slang and Greco-Roman.

Career

He started his career as a musician as a student in the band Beat! Beat! Beat! in which he played drums as a founding member.

Following the announcement of the debut EP Elliot in 2013, Roosevelt released the double A-side Night Moves / Hold On on Greco-Roman in 2015 , which continued the warm, Balearic- influenced synth-pop sound.

On August 19, 2016, the debut album Roosevelt was released by City Slang / Greco-Roman.The album reached number 27 in the German album charts and also entered the top 50 of the charts in Austria and Switzerland.

Roosevelt has supported Hot Chip , Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs , Crystal Fighters . and Glass Animals . After the album was released in 2016, extensive tours through Europe and the USA followed, Roosevelt played at various festivals and the like. a. Primavera Sound Festival , MELT !, The Governors Ball Music Festival, Sónar , Montreux Jazz Festival , Sziget and Lollapalooza .

In addition to his live performances, Roosevelt has had a successful career as a DJ so far. After starting as resident DJ of the Total Confusion Party in Cologne, he also played in the London club Fabric , in the Berlin Panorama Bar , in the Boiler Room in the Paris Social Club, as well as at festivals all over the world.

So far he has produced remixes for Chvrches , Glass Animals , Who Made Who , RHYE and Kakkmaddafakka, among others .

His second album Young Romance was released on September 28, 2018 . First the tracks Under The Sun and Forgive (feat. Washed Out ) were released. As a follow-up single was then released Shadows . From October to December 2018 Roosevelt was with the band on his biggest tour through Europe and North America to date.

In 2017 Roosevelt was nominated for the Echo Pop and the Prize for Pop Culture and in 2018 for the 1Live Krone .
