Beate Reich (born August 23, 1968 in Bonn ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and lawyer.

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Sinzig in 1988 , Reich studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1996 she passed her second state examination and became an administrative lawyer at Cologne City Council . She lives in Remagen .

politics

Reich joined the SPD in 1988. Since 1994 she has been the deputy district chairwoman of the SPD Ahrweiler , and since 2000/2001 chairwoman of the SPD local association in Remagen and the SPD city association. In addition, she was Juso district chairwoman of Rhineland / Hessen-Nassau from 1996 to 1998 . Since 2002 she was temporarily a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Rhineland-Palatinate .

From 2001 to 2006 she was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament , in which she was deputy chairwoman of the legal committee. She exercised the function of legal policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group.

She is the 1994 member City Council of Remagen .

Public offices

From May 18, 2006 to November 2014, she was State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice. She was a member of the cabinet and in 2011 of Kurt Beck and the first cabinet of Malu Dreyer. She was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for International Legal Cooperation . Due to her work as State Secretary, she was Deputy Chairwoman of the Administrative Board of the Administrative University of Speyer . She was released as part of a major cabinet reshuffle.

She is a member of the social policy committee of the social association VdK Rhineland-Palatinate .
