Beatrice Knop

Beatrice Knop (born December 13, 1972 in East Berlin ) is a German dancer . She was the first solo dancer at the Berlin State Ballet .

Beatrice Knop is a classical and modern ballet dancer . Trained at the State Ballet School in Berlin , she won the Prix de Lausanne in Tokyo in 1989. In the last year of her training, she already danced the role of Myrtha in the ballet Giselle . After completing her training, she was engaged in the ballet of the State Opera Unter den Linden in 1991 . In 1993 she became a soloist. In 1995/96 she moved to the Aalto Ballet Theater in Essen, where she was also engaged as a soloist. In 1996 she returned to her place of birth in Berlin and to the State Opera Unter den Linden. In 1998, after her debut as Odette / Odile in Schwanensee, she was appointed first soloist.

Beatrice Knop danced the leading roles in all important classical and neoclassical ballets, as well as in many modern ballets by modern choreographers . International guest appearances have taken her to Australia, Canada, China, France, Greece, Italy, Japan and Switzerland. Her dance partners included Roberto Bolle , Thomas Edur , Vladimir Malakhov , Oliver Matz , Jaš Otrin , Raimondo Rebeck , Ronald Savković , Artjom Schpilewski and Dmitri Semionow .

Her farewell performance as a dancer took place on February 24, 2016 at the Deutsche Oper Berlin . For health reasons, she switched to production management (artistic operations office) at the Berlin State Ballet .
