Roberto Bolle (born March 26, 1975 in Casale Monferrato , Piedmont ) is an Italian ballet dancer .

Career

Bolle was born in 1975 in the province of Alessandria in Piedmont, Italy. At the age of seven he began his ballet training at a local school, at eleven he was accepted at the Scala ballet school in Milan . In 1990 Rudolf Nurejew selected him for the Tadzio in a ballet on Death in Venice ( choreography : Flemming Flindt ).

After a short stint at Scala as a ballerino , Bolle has been working as a freelancer since 1996. Since then he has worked with the Royal Ballet , the Tokyo Ballet, the National Ballet of Canada, the Stuttgart Ballet , the Finnish National Ballet , at the Unter den Linden State Opera in Berlin, the Vienna State Opera , the Semperoper Ballet in Dresden, the Bavarian State Opera danced in Munich and at numerous festivals. In 2007 Bolle made his debut at the American Ballet Theater in New York.

Bolle has also become known as a model and has been one of the Italian UNICEF special ambassadors since 1999 . In 2006 he visited Sudan and subsequently raised over US $ 650,000 for education and health projects there. At the opening ceremony for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Bolle was one of the representatives for modernism .
