Beatriz Bracher

Beatriz Bracher (* 1961 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian author.

Life

Beatriz Bracher studied literature. She worked as an editor at the publishing house "Editora 34", which she co-founded in 1992, and wrote for the magazine "34 Letras". She wrote the scripts for the films Cronicamente Inviável (2000), Os Inquilinos (2009) and O Abismo Prateado (2011).

Her novel Antônio received a third prize at the Prêmio Jabuti de Literatura in 2007 . The novel also came out on top at the Prêmio Portugal Telecom de Literatura and Prêmio São Paulo de Literatura . Bracher received the "Prêmio Clarice Lispector" from the Brazilian National Library in 2009 for her collection of short stories Meu Amor .
