Beaver Island is a 3 km long and 1.5 km wide island off the coast of the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It is located directly on the southern flank of the confluence of the Beaver Glacier in the eastern part of the Amundsen Bay .

Participants of a team of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions led by the German-Australian geologist Peter Wolfgang Israel Crohn (1925-2015) visited the island in 1956. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named it after the nearby Beaver Glacier , whose namesake are aircraft of the type DHC-2 Beaver , which served the Australian expedition series for coastal exploration.
