The Beaver River (English for " beaver river") or Mitinissiu-shipu (the name of the Innu or the Naskapi ) is an approximately 110 km long river in the east of the Labrador Peninsula in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador belonging to the sub-province of Labrador .
River course
The Beaver River rises on the central Labrador plateau 10 km east-southeast of Hope Lake at an altitude of 670 m . The Beaver River flows mainly in an easterly direction and finally flows into the western end of Grand Lake . The catchment area covers 1878 km². Atlantic salmon are found in the Beaver River .
