Beverle Lorence Buell (born July 14, 1953 in Portsmouth , Virginia ) is an American musician and singer and a former model and playmate . She is the mother of actress Liv Tyler .

Life

After her school education, her mother Dorothea placed her daughter in the New York Ford Modeling Agency and Bebe Buell began a career as a model. In 1974 she was discovered by Playboy magazine and posed as a Playmate in the November issues of the USA and Germany of the same year.

As a little girl, Buell had been very interested in music; she loved the Beatles and the Rolling Stones . Even during her modeling days, she often went to concerts and quickly became a well-known groupie . She had affairs with Stiv Bators , Elvis Costello , Jimmy Page , David Bowie and Iggy Pop . She entered into the longest relationship with the solo artist Todd Rundgren . She only separated from him in 1977.

After an affair with Steven Tyler , Buell became pregnant. She turned back to Todd Rundgren, who looked after daughter Liv like a biological father in the years that followed . Only in late childhood did Buell tell her daughter, who until then had the surname Rundgren , that Tyler was her father.

In 1980 Buell formed her first band, the B-Sides , which got a contract with an independent label. Cars and Rick Derringer played on the first LP . The commercial success failed to materialize. It was only with the second band The Gargoyles , founded in 1985 , that it became successful. Big record companies offered contracts.

In 1992 Buell married the Canadian rock star and guitarist of the bands Sharkskin and The Conspiracy ; Coyote Shivers . The marriage lasted until 1999. In the same year, daughter Liv moved out of her home and Bebe Buell decided to continue her musical career. Together with Don Fleming she produced CDs for her solo project.

In 2000 Buell met Jim Wallerstein , the lead singer of Vacationland , whom she married on August 25, 2002.
