Bebington is a town on Merseyside , England . It is located on the Wirral Peninsula of the River Mersey and has around 57,000 inhabitants. The city also includes the area of Port Sunlight with the Port Sunlight Village , one of the early industrial cities. The Lady Lever Art Gallery is located in the listed village .

The sports stadium in Bebington was the setting for the film Chariots of Fire . It depicted the 1924 Paris Olympic Stadium in the film. The street lamp in the churchyard of St. Andrews was the inspiration for the lantern that plays a role in CS Lewis ’s Chronicles of Narnia .
