Bechor-Shalom Shitrite ( Hebrew בכור-שלום שיטרית, * 1895 in Tiberias , Ottoman Empire ; † January 28, 1967 in Israel ) was an Israeli politician and minister.

He was one of the 37 first signatories of the Israeli declaration of independence . Shitrit was a former police officer and served as Minister of Police from May 1948 until a month before his death in January 1967 . He worked in 14 governments, making him the longest serving minister in Israel.

Shitrit was a member of the Knesset in the 1st to the 6th legislative period. So 1949–1951 for the Sfaradim VeEdot Misrach , 1951–1965 for Mapai , 1965–1967 for the HaMa'arach . He was Minister of Police from 1948 to 1967 and Minister for Minorities from 1948 to 1949 .
