offer

The website also offers the opportunity to form groups. Interested parties can join forces on individual areas of law and topics and discuss certain legal topics. There are groups on criminal law , IT law , European law and other groups (as of 2012).

reception

The legal journal NJW-aktuell , a weekly supplement to the NJW , picks out a current topic on the Beck blog every week and briefly presents the controversial positions represented there.

A study published in 2016 by the dpa subsidiary news aktuell and the Hamburg-based management consultancy Faktenkontor found that of 1,793 blogs from the Zimpel media database in the period from November 2015 to January 2016, the Beck blog was the most important German blog in the field of law. The study published in 2017 for the period November 2016 to January 2017 came to the same conclusion.

As part of a review of the development of law in the Berlin Republic at the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History , Thomas Hoeren pointed out in 2017 with a view to the Beck blog that legal blogs are "barely noticed by legal research" , "Let alone quoted".
