from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Beck-Online ( spelling : beck-online.DIE DATENBANK ) is a legal specialist database from the publishing house C. H. Beck .

history

The service started in 2001. At the time, the offer only included the areas of civil law and labor law , which were looked after by around a dozen employees.

Content and target groups

Today 150 specialist modules are offered, which cover individual areas of law or which are aimed at specific professional groups. In addition to the comments and form books from Verlag C. H. Beck and Nomos Verlag, this also includes the laws on which the respective legal area is based. For this purpose, the publisher's text collections were prepared for online use. Court decisions can be accessed through the provider's trade journals. In addition, there is a separate collection of decisions, the Beck's case law collection BeckRS .

The Beck'sche Online Comments series appears primarily in Beck-Online, but is also published as a printed work at greater intervals. By 2019, Beck-Online had published more than 65 Beck's online comments on various areas of law. The format is now also supplemented by the more detailed beck-online.de LARGE COMMENTS, which are devoted to central codifications with greater depth of detail.

In addition, products from around 40 partners can be accessed via Beck-Online, including the trade journals for industrial property rights and copyrights and business consultants and the Genios database . From April 2011 to December 2014, the Staudinger legal commentary on the German Civil Code was offered via Beck-Online. The products from Nomos-Verlag on labor and social law are sold under their own brand, NomosOnline . An electronic file management system has also been integrated into the Beck-Online user interface.

The target group of the service are mainly lawyers and scientists . Agreements have been made with the federal states on its use in administration and the judiciary . Libraries can have a university module licensed.
