Bedřich Janáček (born May 18, 1920 in Prague ; † June 3, 2007 in Lund ) was a Czech organist, composer and music teacher.

Janáček began training at the Prague Conservatory in 1939 . In 1940 he studied for some time in Zagreb and on his return to Prague became a student of Bedřich Antonín Wiedermann at the local conservatory . From 1942 he taught himself at the conservatory. After the end of the Second World War, he worked as a teacher at the Prague Municipal Music School until 1946 and at the same time completed an advanced training at the State Music Academy. Until he moved to Sweden in 1948, he worked as an organ teacher and taught a. a. the organist Karel Hron .

After making his debut as an organist in Prague in 1938, Janáček gave more than seventy concerts in Czechoslovakia by 1948. After the February coup in Czechoslovakia and his emigration to Sweden, he performed in concert halls in Scandinavia, Germany, Switzerland, France, Holland, Belgium, England, Ireland and Italy and made two concert tours through the USA (1968 and 1970). In addition to works by Czech masters, his repertoire also included important international organ literature. He played organ concerts with Gennadi Roschdestwenski and Rafael Kubelík and wrote an organ version of Leoš Janáček's Glagolitic Mass . From 1965 to 1985 he was the organist at Lund Cathedral. During the emigration Janáček also became active as a composer. In addition to some church music, he mainly composed organ music, and he also published memories of his teacher Wiedermann.
