The Beggars Group , based in south-west London, brings together some influential independent labels : XL Recordings , 4AD , Too Pure and the original label Beggars Banquet Records .

In order to put an alleged end to the confusion of terms, the label group has been operating as Beggars Group Ltd since mid-2000, to illustrate the difference to the regular Beggars Banquet label, which used to specialize in guitar music.

Since mid-2002 the US independent label Matador Records has also become part of the Beggars Group and is marketed and promoted across Europe through the Beggars offices. The traditional English label Rough Trade Records has also been part of the Beggars Group since 2007 .

In April 2008, the Beggars Group announced that Baggers Banquet will be merged into 4AD as part of a restructuring process, as will Too Pure.

In Germany, all artists are looked after by the Beggars office in Hamburg . Distribution is carried out by Indigo, also based in Hamburg .
