Behbeit el-Hagar ( Hebit in ancient Egypt , Arabic بهبيت الحجارة, DMG Bahbīt / Bahbait al-Ḥiǧāra ) is a village in the Nile Delta southwest of al-Mansura , which belongs to the governorate of ad-Daqahliyya . The ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Amasis built an Isis sanctuary here during his reign . Besides Isis, Hor-pa-chered was also worshiped. During his reign, Nectanebos II founded the Iseum as a counterpart to the temple in Koptos , but it initially remained unfinished because of the Persian invasion .

The Iseum was completed in the Ptolemaic period . A relief on which Hor-pa-chered wears the double crown accompanied by Hathor dates from the reign of Ptolemy II . The associated chapel of the Iseum was considered to be the “ high house in which Hor-pa-chered resides ”. Ptolemy III had at least one other depiction of Hor-pa-chered attached. On a stele , Hor-pa-chered is called " Lord of Hebit ". In the base of the stele, under the feet of the child god, an Asian and a Nubian stand as a synonym for the enemies of Egypt.
