For Behenu, a queen pyramid was built southwest of the pyramid of Pepi I, which was discovered by French archaeologists in 2007 . In the pyramid itself, pyramid texts were discovered that bore the name of the Behenu and thus made it possible to identify the owner of this structure. A very well-preserved head of a statuette of the queen was found in the remains of the mortuary temple . It measures 7.5 cm and has eyes that are inlaid with colored materials. At the beginning of 2010 the burial chamber was researched and the Behenu sarcophagus was discovered in it.
