The contributions to name research , currently as contributions to name research. New episode (short BNF or BzN , BNF NF. Or BzN NF ) is an interdisciplinary journal of German , Romance and Slavic studies for research on Central European names ( Onomastics ) as well as non-European areas and Indo- Germania .
The current editors since 1995 (Volume 29/30) are Rolf Bergmann , Damaris Nübling , Ulrich Obst and Heinrich Tiefenbach . The magazine appears in four issues per year and is published by the University Press Winter in Heidelberg . In addition to the contributions, new publications on name research and general linguistic publications are reviewed. In addition to German, the publication languages are English and French.
The magazine was originally founded in 1949 by Hans Krahe and edited by him together with Ernst Dickemann up to volume 16 (1965). In 1966 Rudolf Schützeichel founded the new series and was editor-in-chief with Ernst Dickemann and Jürgen Untermann. The group of editors was then expanded to include Rolf Bergmann and Ulrich Obst.
“The articles deal with name use and name history, name grammar and name theory. The magazine is open to problems of personal names and animal names, geographical names, event names, product names, etc. of all languages, spaces and times. The focus is on the languages and names of Central Europe. Reviews provide information on name-related new publications as well as name-related publications on the history of language, dialectology, grammar, lexicography, history and archeology. "
