Belita

Belita (born October 25, 1923 in Nether Wallop , Hampshire as Maria Belita Gladys Olive Lyne Jepson-Turner , † December 18, 2005 in Montpeyroux ) was a British figure skater , dancer and actress .
She started dancing at the age of two and skating at the age of four.
At the Olympic Winter Games in 1936 , she finished 16th in figure skating .
In 1937 she appeared in the Rhapsody on Ice at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. After that she went to Hollywood . In 1944 she played the lead role in the figure skating musical film Belita tanzt (Lady, Let's Dance) . The film received Oscar nominations for "Best Song" and "Best Score in a Musical Film" .
