The Bell-Irving River is an orographic right tributary of the Nass River in the north of the Canadian province of British Columbia .

The Bell-Irving River has its source in the Klappan Range in the north of the Skeena Mountains . It flows mainly in a southerly direction. It separates the Boundary Ranges to the west from the Oweegee Range , a part of the Skeena Mountains, in the east. The British Columbia Highway 37 ( Cassiar Highway ) crosses the Bell-Irving River and follows it to 30 km above its mouth. The Bell-Irving River flows into the Nass River above Meziadin Lake . It has a length of about 160 km. The river drains an area of ​​around 5350 km². The mean discharge 17 km above the mouth is 290 m³ / s. The highest runoffs are measured in June and July. Larger tributaries are Taft Creek and Bowser River .

The river was named after Lieutenant Duncan Peter Bell-Irving of the Canadian Army, who fell in Belgium on February 26, 1915 during World War I.
