Rubén Bentancourt , full name Rubén Daniel Bentancourt Morales , (born March 2, 1993 in Salto ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
society
The 1.86 meter tall offensive player Bentancourt is the son of the former Progreso goalkeeper of the same name . He started playing football in Pre-baby Fútbol and then in Baby Fútbol at the Ferro Carril Futbol Club . In 2004 he became national champion in the eleven-year-old category with the Baltic selection. In early 2007 he joined the Club Atlético Ceibal . In the following year he was reappointed to the U-15 of the department selection. However, he was no longer used because during a league game of his club, the talent scouts Danubio noticed him and signed him for the youth team. There he first played in the Sexta División and the Quinta División. In January 2011, he was then leading scorer in the Copa Santiago , a Brazilian in Santiago held junior tournament. With his club he placed second behind SC Internacional . In the same year he was promoted from the Cuarta División to the first division team Danubios. Bentancourt was part of the squad of the Uruguayan first division club Danubio in the 2011/12 season . A commitment for the Montevideans in the Primera División is not recorded. In August 2011, he then signed for four years with PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands . This makes him the first Uruguayan to play for the club in the club's history. According to his association, he also has Italian citizenship. Around that time, the Uruguayan press named him the " Cavani of PSV" , also due to his origins and the very similar appearance .
On August 19, 2013, he ran for the first time in the Eerste Divisie for the youth team Jong PSV when he came on in the game of the third game against FC Oss in the 66th minute for Geraldo Antonio . On August 30, 2013 he was in the starting lineup of Eindhoven for the first time in the away game against FC Dordrecht . He scored his first goal in his fourth game on September 2, 2013 in the game against Ajax. At the end of January 2014, Bentancourt moved to the Italian Serie A for Atalanta Bergamo . After he made his debut there on April 6, 2014 in the 2-0 home defeat against US Sassuolo Calcio , when he came on for Giuseppe de Luca in the 64th minute of the game , he made two more appearances against CFC Genoa and until the end of the season Catania Calcio . For the 2014/15 season he was loaned to Bologna FC with an option to buy. For the Bolognese he ran in five games (no goal) of Serie B and one encounter (no goal) of Coppa Italia . At the beginning of February 2015, he initially returned to Uruguay temporarily and joined the first division club Defensor Sporting on loan . There he ran eight times (no goal) in the Primera División in the 2015 Clausura. Then his career path leads back to Europe, where he has been on loan from the Italian third division club US Arezzo since mid-July 2015 . He played 29 league games there in the 2015/16 season and scored four goals. He was also used once (no goal) in the Coppa Italia. In July 2016 Atalanta Bergamo announced the amicable termination of the contract with Bentancourt. At the beginning of September 2016 he moved to Defensa y Justicia in Argentina . Without playing a competitive game with the professionals, he left the Argentinians at the end of January 2017 and continued his career at Paraná Clube . With the Brazilians he was used once (no goal) in the Primeira Liga and three times (no goal) in the Campeonato Paranaense . In July 2017, the Uruguayan first division club Sud América signed him .
National team
Bentancourt has been a member of the Uruguayan U-20 team since 2011. He made his debut for the Celeste on June 6, 2012 in a game against the junior national team of the United States. Among other things, he was also used as part of the preparation for the South American Championship in 2013 at the Copa Antel in December 2012 in a game against the U-23 selection of Rio Grande do Sul and scored Uruguay's goal at the 1-3 Defeat. He was part of the squad of the Uruguayan U-20 team at the U-20 South American Football Championship in Argentina in 2013 . There he played four games and scored one goal.
