Career

Chester City and Shrewsbury Town

After his first positions at FC Walsall and Kidderminster Harriers , Ben Davies moved to Chester City on May 9, 2002 . With his team he won the championship in the fifth-rate Football Conference in the 2003/04 season . After two seasons in Football League Two , Shrewsbury Town signed him on May 20, 2006 . With his new team, also playing in the fourth division, Davies (46 league games / 12 goals) reached the play-off final of the 2006/07 season. In the final in front of 61,589 spectators at Wembley , Shrewsbury lost 3-1 to Bristol Rovers without the injured Ben Davies and thus missed promotion. Two years later, the club again moved into the play-off final as seventh in the table. Davies, who played 90 minutes this time, could not avoid the repeated defeat (0: 1 against FC Gillingham ).

Notts County and Derby County

On July 2, 2009 Davies moved to league rivals Notts County . In the 2009/10 season he contributed fifteen goals to win the championship and was also voted PFA Team of the Year in the fourth division. After another good start for him in the Football League One 2010/11 , he signed on January 20, 2011, the second division Derby County . In the second half of the Football League Championship 2010/11 he did not come into its own as hoped, but increased his performance in the 2011/12 season and ended the season with Derby as twelfth in the table.
