Benedikt Oberndorfer (born July 30, 1912 in Lambach ; † May 15, 1977 ) was administrator from 1952 to 1956 and abbot of Lambach Monastery from 1956 to 1964 .

Life

Oberndorfer joined Lambach Abbey in 1930 and became a priest in 1938. During the abolition of the monastery (1941) he was pastor in Lambach and administrator of the monastery. After the end of the war he was employed as an economic administrator, took care of the repair of the damage and made a special mark by founding the agricultural college in Lambach, which he was director from 1946 to 1951. After the resignation of Abbot Petrus Trefflinger , he was reinstated as administrator and appointed abbot in 1956 on the occasion of the anniversary of the foundation of Rome. Since he could not improve the economic problems of the monastery either, he shared the fate of his impeachment with his predecessor in 1964 and went to Gösing am Wagram as pastor .
