The name Beneribs on an ivory plaque next to the Horus name of Aha |
According to Walter Bryan Emery, Benerib (also Bener-ib ) was the daughter of the ancient Egyptian king ( Pharaoh ) Narmer and the wife of King Aha during the 1st Dynasty .
Benerib is documented mainly on ivory labels and vessel fragments from the tomb of King Aha in Abydos . Your name is the subject of controversy , it is often read as Imaib (also Ima-ib ). There is uncertainty about her family position, as there are no titles attached to her name . Therefore, it remains to be clarified whether she was not more like Narmer's and Ahaz's wife or even just Ahaz's daughter. Generally, however, Benerib is led as the wife of King Aha. Peter Kaplony reads the name as Ima (t) -ib and considers her to be a daughter of Aha.
