Bengt Simonsen

Bengt Simonsen ( Bengt Roland Simonsen; born March 23, 1958 in Gothenburg ) is a former Swedish walker .

In 1976 he came in 26th place in the 20 km walk at the Olympic Games in Montreal . At the World Athletics Championships in 50 km walking in Malmö, he was disqualified. In 1977 he won bronze in the 10,000 m walking at the European Junior Athletics Championships in Donetsk .

In the 50 km walk he was eleventh at the European Athletics Championships in 1978 in Prague and fourth at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. At the European Championship in Athens in 1982 he was disqualified. A tenth place at the World Athletics Championships in 1983 in Helsinki was followed by a disqualification at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Twice he was Swedish champion in walking 20 km (1975, 1976) and three times in walking 50 km (1980, 1982, 1984).
