Benjamín Martínez Martínez (born August 23, 1987 in Terrassa ), called Benja , is a Spanish football player . The striker plays for FC Barcelona B .
Career
Benja began his career at CF Damm and in the youth teams Espanyol Barcelona . In the 2007/08 season he played for CE Europe , for which he scored ten goals that season. In 2008 he moved to local rivals FC Barcelona and from then on went hunting for goals for their B team. Initially he was loaned to fourth division FC Reus for six months , where he scored a total of eight goals in 18 games.
In the second half of the season he played for Barça B and scored four goals in 15 games. In the 2009/10 season he made a decisive contribution to the promotion of his team to the Segunda División with his goals . Benja was the third best goalscorer of his team and scored three goals in the play-off quarter-final first leg against Ejido (3: 3). After the 1-1 draw in the second leg, his team was one round further and was then able to defeat Real Jaén and UE Sant Andreu , which the team was promoted.
