Benjamin Hassan (born February 4, 1995 in Merzig ) is a German tennis player who competes in the Davis Cup for Lebanon .

Career

Hassan played almost exclusively on the ITF Future Tour until 2017 and has won a title there in both singles and doubles. In Davis Cup Hassan made his debut, who also has Lebanese citizenship in 2018 for Lebanon , for which he a score of 6: 1.

In 2017 he moved into the top 1000 in the world rankings for the first time and, after some good results on the ATP Challenger Tour, ended the year in 407th place the following year. In May 2019 he reached his first Challenger quarter-finals in Aix-en-Provence and defeated his most highly rewarded opponent to date with Denis Istomin (103rd place) on the way . In June Hassan went one step further from qualifying at the Challenger in Vicenza and played his way into the first Challenger semi-finals. The following week in Prostějov he was again in the quarter-finals, so that he was able to achieve a new career high with 300th place after the tournament. In the 2019 season of the 2nd Bundesliga , Hassen will play for BASF TC Ludwigshafen .
