Benjamin Kaufman

Benjamin Kaufman (* 1962 ; also Ben Kaufman ) is a former clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of California Medical School . He has experience in psychiatry and psychoanalysis and is a founding member of the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality ( NARTH ), of which he is a board member. In this context, he has also referred to the removal of homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses as the "first step in undermining the scientific integrity of psychiatry" and placed this step on the gay agenda of "gay activists" .

He practices in Sacramento , California. Kaufman qualified with the American Psychoanalytic Association in the fields of neurology, psychiatry, and psychoanalysis. Kaufman served on the University of California's Mind Institute Board and on the board of the university organ transplant program . He was the chairman of the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society . Kaufman is a member of the American College of Psychoanalysts .
