Benjamin Nadjem (born April 2, 1995 in Kabul ) is a German-Afghan soccer player . The defender last played for SV Drochtersen / Assel and also made his debut for the Afghan national football team in 2017 .
Career
society
Nadjem, son of Afghan immigrants, started his career at Concordia Hamburg before joining the youth team at FC St. Pauli . Here the defender played in the U-19 Bundesliga before he was promoted to the second men's team. After two seasons, where he commuted relatively often between the starting eleven and the bench, he finally prevailed as a regular player for the 2015/16 season. In 2018, after four years at FC St. Pauli II, he moved to Hamburg's upper division TSV Sasel , and after a season there in 2019 to SV Drochtersen / Assel . His contract there was terminated at the end of November and Nadjem has been without a club since then.
National team
In February 2017, Nadjem was nominated for the first time for the national team of Afghanistan by Otto Pfister . He made his debut in the game against Singapore on March 23, 2017 , when he came on for Hassan Amin in the 46th minute . So far, he has played a total of nine games, but he failed to score.
