Benkaly Kaba (born February 17,  1959 in Dakar , French West Africa , today Senegal ) is a former French - Senegalese basketball player . He is the uncle of the basketball player Alpha Kaba .

career

Kaba, a 1.98-meter-long winger, played in France's first division in 1979/80 for JA Vichy , from 1980 to 1988 for EB Orthez and from 1988 to 1991 in Reims . 1991/92 and 1992/93 he was a member of the second division SLUC Nancy Basket . 1984 Kaba beat with Orthez Red Star Belgrade in the final of the European Cup Korać Cup , he scored 20 points in the game. In 1986 and 1987 he became French champions with Orthez under coach Georges Fisher . He contributed an average of 14.8 points to winning the title in 1986 and 10.4 points per match in 1987. Kaba achieved its highest score in the French premier league in the 1983/84 season (19.8 points / game).

National team

Kaba, who played 32 international matches for France, played for Senegal's team at the World Cup in 1978. He was part of the French team that took part in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles , and Kaba scored 5.6 points per game over the course of the tournament.
