Benkt-Erik Benktson

Benkt-Erik Benktson (* 1918 in Viby , Örebro Lan , † 1998 in Lund ) was a Swedish Lutheran theologian .

Benktson was promoted to Dr. theol. obtained his doctorate and worked as a pastor in various parishes of the Church of Sweden and as a religion teacher until he became a lecturer in dogmatics at Lund University in 1963 . In 1976 he moved to Gothenburg University as a lecturer .

Benktson was influenced by Karl Barth , to whom his dissertation was dedicated, and often dealt in his writings with border issues between theology and philosophy, including Jean-Paul Sartre and Martin Heidegger .

Among other things, he wanted to “ save Bonhoeffer's concept of religion with the old distinction between religio vera and religio falsa ”.
