Benmore Valley AVA (recognized October 18, 1991) is a wine-growing region in the US state of California . The area is in southwest Lake County . The high valley is named after Benjamin Moore. The height results in a microclimate suitable for viticulture . There is no winery within the area and much of the grapes produced are purchased by Geyser Peak Winery.
