Bennelong (constituency)

Bennelong is one of 150 constituencies used to elect the Australian House of Representatives . It is located in the northern part of the Australian city of Sydney in the state of New South Wales . The constituency includes the boroughs of Eastwood , Carlingford , Epping and Ryde . It was founded in 1949 and named after the Aboriginal Woollarawarre Bennelong , who was friends with Arthur Phillip , the first governor of New South Wales.

Since 2010, John Alexander of the Liberal Party of Australia has been the incumbent MP for the constituency.
