Benno hunters (* 1926 / 1927 , † 2007 ) was a German basketball official and umpire.

Life

Jäger came into contact with basketball during his teacher training course, after having previously practiced athletics , handball and gymnastics . In the course of his further life he was particularly active as a basketball referee and official. In 1962 he obtained the authorization to conduct games in the Bundesliga as a referee, and in 1968 the license for international games was added. Jäger was a referee in more than 100 Bundesliga games, 70 international matches and 43 European Cup matches. At the Olympic basketball tournament at the 1972 Summer Games in Munich , he was a member of the staff as chairman of the judges' tribunals, and from 1978 he worked for FIBA as a technical inspector in 40 games.

As a functionary, Jäger held other offices from 1963 to 1967, the post of referee secretary of the Bavarian Basketball Association (BBV), from 1967 to 1977 he served as BBV chairman, between 1973 and 1984 he was referee secretary of the German Basketball Association (DBB) . In 1977 he was appointed honorary president of the Bavarian Basketball Association, and in 1978 FIBA ​​made him an honorary referee.
