Wilhelm Heinrich von Korff zu Harkotten (* 1651 ; † 1703 ) was a member of the state parliament of the bishopric of Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Wilhelm Heinrich von Korff zu Harkotten grew up as the son of Jobst Bernhard von Korff zu Harkotten and his wife Juliane von Westphalen zu Fürstenberg (1630–1695) together with his siblings   Friedrich Ferdinand , Moritz Ferdinand , Katharina Gertrud (⚭ Dietrich Brenken), Anna Dorothea ( 1649–1700, ⚭ Freiherr Goswin Caspar von Ketteler), Brigitte Theodora (⚭ Wolfgang von Boeselager), Klara Helena (⚭ von Boenen) and Jobst Dietrich (* 1668, canon in Cappenberg ) in an ancient Westphalian noble family . on. In 1683 he married Franzelina Christina von Galen zu Assen (1660–1723, daughter of Johann Heinrich von Galen and Anna Elisabeth von der Recke ). The children of the marriage are Wilhelm Friedrich (1688–1727, ⚭ Catharina Franziska Bernhardina von Westpfalen), Hugo Gottfried , Benedikt Matthias , Maria Dorothea (canon in Nottuln ), Dietrich Mauritz Joseph, Franz Bernhard (Canon in Cappenberg ), Anna Elisabeth ( Canon lady in Nottuln) and Francelina Helena (canon lady in Langenhorst ) emerged. 

Act

In 1660 Wilhelm Heinrich received a tonsure , was prepared for a clerical office and received a qualification for a cathedral priest in Mainz . Between 1670 and 1674 he went on study trips to various important universities, such as Vienna , Prague , Rome and Paris. On other trips he got to know the cities of Naples, Florence, Milan, Lyon, Strasbourg and Speyer. On November 20, 1695 Wilhelm Heinrich was sworn to the knighthood of Münster and was thus a representative in the state parliament . The task of this institution, consisting of the three estates, was to regulate the tax system and from 1447 also the feuding system in the bishopric of Münster . In 1700 and 1701 he received an invitation to the state parliament. Wilhelm Heinrich made his will on May 5, 1702.
