Hugo Gottfried von Korff zu Harkotten (baptismal name: Hugo Gottfried Adam) (born November 25, 1693 - November 16, 1726 ) was canon in Osnabrück and provost in the parish church of St. Johann in Osnabrück.

Life

Origin and family

Hugo Gottfried grew up as the son of Wilhelm Heinrich von Korff zu Harkotten and his wife Franzelina Christina von Galen zu Assen together with his siblings Wilhelm Friedrich (1688–1727, ⚭ Catharina Franziska Bernhardina von Westfalen), Benedikt Matthias , Maria Dorothea (canoness in Nottuln ) , Dietrich Mauritz Joseph, Franz Bernhard (Canon in Cappenberg ), Anna Elisabeth (canon in Nottuln) and Francelina Helena (canon in Langenhorst ) in the ancient noble von Korff family .

Act

After six years of studying at the Collegium Germanicum in Rome , Hugo Gottfried received a cathedral preacher in Osnabrück in 1719 at the influence of the Pope . Before that, the revolt took place before the cathedral chapter . After two years as a canon , he was appointed provost of St. Johann in Osnabrück on January 2, 1721 . He remained in this office until his death. He was buried in the Osnabrück cathedral portal.
