Moritz Ferdinand von Korff zu Harkotten (* 1670 ; † May 25, 1716 ) was a knight of the Teutonic Order and commander of several comedians.

Life

Origin and family

Moritz Ferdinand von Korff zu Harkotten grew up as the son of Jobst Bernhard von Korff zu Harkotten and his wife Juliane von Westphalen zu Fürstenberg (1630–1695) together with his siblings  Wilhelm HeinrichFriedrich Ferdinand , Katharina Gertrud (⚭ Dietrich Brenken), Anna Dorothea ( 1649–1700, ⚭ Freiherr Goswin Caspar von Ketteler), Brigitte Theodora (⚭ Wolfgang von Boeselager), Klara Helena (⚭ von Boenen) and Jobst Dietrich (* 1668, canon in Cappenberg) in the ancient von Korff family .

Act

Moritz Ferdinand joined the Teutonic Order and was appointed Komtur der Kommende Mülheim in 1693 . In the following years he was Komtur in the Kommende Osnabrück, Brackel (1705-1712) and Mahlenburg (1713-1716) of the Westphalia Ballei . He was appointed imperial notary in 1705. He stayed in this office for two years. Moritz Ferdinand was buried in the parish church in Datteln .
