Benno Zech

Benno Zech (born October 5, 1928 in Niederkirchen near Deidesheim ) is a German teacher and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Zech attended elementary school and the humanistic grammar school (today Kurfürst-Ruprecht-Gymnasium Neustadt ) in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse. and the Landau University of Education, where he took the first teacher examination in 1950 and the second in 1953. From 1953 he was a teacher in Niederkirchen and from 1957 to 1983 a teacher at the Dr.-Albert-Finck-Schule in Hambach . In 1966 he became vice rector and in 1977 rector. He was a co-founder of the field of work theory / technical works and head of the Hambach branch of the Neustadt adult education center. In 1987 he became a government school councilor and from 1989 to 1992 he was the government school director in Pirmasens and Zweibrücken.

In 1956 he joined the CDU. From 1969 to 1996 he was mayor in Neustadt-Hambach and from 1974 to 1998 a member of the Neustadt city council

In 1983 he was elected to the tenth Landtag of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which he was a member for one term until 1987. In the state parliament he was a member of the committee for agriculture, viticulture and forestry, the cultural policy committee and the legal committee.

He was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit and the Order of Merit of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate .
