Carolina Carlsson[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Carolina Carlsson (* Heidelberg, Germany) is a Swedish–German actress. She is best known for her roles in The Young Pope[1] (2016), Dragonheart Vengeance[2] (2020) and Il commissario Montalbano[3] (2020).

Carolina is highly educated, speaking no less than five languages fluently; English,German, Swedish, French and Italian. In addition Carolina is also handy with a bow and arrow, is a proficient horseback rider and even skilled in martial arts and weapons handling.

One of her latest appearance on screens was as “The Snake” in the Dragonheart 5 Vengeance[4] Film which debuted in early February 2020.

The Young Pope (TV Series)[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

During episode four of this TV series Carolina is appearing alongside Jude Law in the now famous dance scene. What makes this fourth episode so striking is the fact that his particular asterism carried what could have been a turning point for viewers to tune out, with a very contained episode in terms of characters, and brought it to new heights. From the way the scenes in this episode were shot, such as Voiello’s two meetings with Esther, to the juxtaposed last shot with the Prime Minister of Greenland dancing in the Vatican Halls, this was Sorrentino’s crowning achievement so far. Utterly without flaw, however, is the final image of the episode: The prime minister of Greenland exuberantly dancing in Pius’s fantasies as facts about Greenland play over the screen.

Carolina plays the role of “Anna” in this French comedy film, produced by Michaël Cohen with the following story line: In the middle of the night, Léo wakes up his best friend Raphaël. His car has broken down an hour away from Paris. No way is Raphaël going to pick him up, that is until the woman of his dreams kicks him out of bed. Once he gets to where Léo is waiting, he discovers there is no breakdown, but what is there waiting for Raphaël? Written by unifrance.org[5]

Between auditioning in various countries (which comes from being linguistically well adapted) and various TV and film shoots there isn’t much time for relaxation. But when she does take “time out” it is usually with hobbies that will build Carolina’s on-screen skills and she is auditioning for more and more action roles lately. Carolina is very skilled of archery, horseback riding, weapons training, Taekwondo, ballet, yoga and meditation as well as scuba diving with sharks and skydiving in the Dubai Desert.
