Benvinda Catarina Rodrigues (born September 18, 1968 in Quelicai , Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor . She is a member of the Frenti-Mudança (FM) party.

biography

Rodrigues has a degree in community development. From 2003 to 2007 she coordinated the work of the women's rights organization buka hatene in Baucau . From 2002 to 2006 she was the coordinator of the Organização Popular de Mulheres Timorense (OPMT), the women's organization of the FRETILIN party .

From 2007 to 2012 she was a member of the National Parliament of East Timor for the Congresso Nacional da Reconstrução Timorense (CNRT) party . Here she was secretary in the Commission on Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, Natural Resources and the Environment (Commission D) and Vice President of the CNRT. From 2008 to 2012 she was also the first president of the Organização de Mulheres Partido CNRT (OMP-CNRT).

From 2012 to 2015 Rodrigues was one of two Frenti-Mudança MPs in the East Timorese national parliament . She was a member of the Commission on Constitutional Affairs, Justice, Public Administration, Local Justice and Anti-Corruption (Commission A) and the Commission on Economy and Development (Commission D). She was also the leader of the FM group in parliament. Since José Luís Guterres returned to parliament after losing his ministerial office, Rodrigues had to vacate her seat in 2015.
