Benzoyloxy group

As a benzoyloxy group is referred to in the organic chemistry the radical C 6 H 5 - (C = O) -O-, the group consisting of phenyl group and the carboxy group is composed and thus on the benzoic acid is derived.

Benzoyloxy groups are found e.g. B. in esters and peroxides, such as dibenzoyl peroxide .

The benzoyloxy group should not be confused with the benzoyl group , which contains one less oxygen atom .
