Bereket Desta

Bereket Desta Gebretsadik ( Amharic ደስታ በረከት; born May 23, 1990 in Sinkata , Ethiopia ) is an Ethiopian athlete.

Career

Bereket Desta is (as of 2012) three times Ethiopian champion in the 400 m run.

In 2010 he started for his country at the African Athletics Championships in Nairobi in the 400 m run and finished eighth in a time of 47.14 seconds. He started again at the 2012 African Championships in Porto-Novo , but was eliminated in the semi-finals.

At the Pan-African Games in Maputo in 2011 , he finished fourth over 400 m.

In 2012 he started at the Ostrava Golden Spike Meeting in the B run over 800 m and finished second in a time of 1: 48.13 minutes.

At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 , he started in the 400 m run, the first Ethiopian since 1956. He was seventh in his prelim in a time of 47.40 seconds and was eliminated.
