Lists on the subject

The models in the Beretta 80 series are self-loading pistols. The model series is also known under the name Cheetah used by Beretta in the American civilian market .

technology

The pistols are designed for relatively weak ammunition and only have a mass lock . They are intended for non-military purposes as self-defense or sporting weapons. All variants have a double-action trigger as well as the open-topped slide that is typical of Beretta . Safety levers are provided on both sides with which the hammer can be brought into its starting position and the weapon can be safely released. For weight reasons, the frame is not made of steel but of an aluminum alloy.

The Beretta 86 model is interesting. There the barrel can be swiveled upwards and a cartridge inserted into the store . This enables the weapon to be loaded without having to retract the slide and cock the hammer.
