Bergan Castle (English for Bergan burg ) is a 1590 m high nunatak in the East Antarctic Coatsland . In the Shackleton Range, it rises south of Mount Dewar from the Shotton snowfield .
The United States Navy photographed him from the air in 1967. The British Antarctic Survey carried out surveys between 1968 and 1971. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1971 after the Norwegian two-wheeler technician and inventor Ole Ferdinand Bergan (1876–1956), who developed a backpack frame patented in 1909 and founded the Bergans company.
