The mining engineering rocks ( Russian Скалы Горный Инженерёв Skaly Gorny Inschenerjow ) are a rock group in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . They rise up immediately south of the Deildegasten in the eastern Petermann chain .
They were discovered during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar researcher Alfred Ritscher . The mapping was carried out by participants in the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). The name goes back to scientists on a Soviet Antarctic expedition from 1960 to 1961.
