The mountains of good hope are two rock peaks in the west ridge of the Hochfrottspitze . The Western Mountain of Good Hope is 2,388 m high, while the neighboring Eastern Mountain of Good Hope is 2,392 m. The Waltenberger House is located at the western foot of the Western Mountain of Good Hope . A summit cross has stood on the Western Mountain of Good Hope since the late 1990s.
There are no marked paths leading to the mountains of good hope. Ascents require surefootedness, climbing agility and a head for heights. Climbing the Western Mountain of Good Hope is easier ( I ) than climbing the Eastern Mountain of Good Hope ( III ).
