The mountain lodge "The Seven Lakes" (.. Bulg хижа "Седемте езера"; abbreviated х Седемте езера; Transcription: Chizha Sedemte Ezera; also хижа "7-те езера") is a mountain hut in the northwest of the Rila -Gebirges, which in turn lies in the southwest of Bulgaria . The mountain hut is located 2196 meters above sea level, on one of the Seven Rila Lakes , the fish lake (Bulgarian Рибното езеро / Ribnoto ezero). The lake is located in the Rila National Park at an altitude of 2184 meters and is the shallowest of the seven Rila lakes with a maximum water depth of 2.50 meters. The mountain hut is located on the northeastern bank of the lake.

The refuge was built in the summer of 1932, with the funds and voluntary work of the members of the Universal White Brotherhood . The building was organized by the teacher Petar Danow . During these years Petar Danow also created Paneurhythmy , one of the most important methods within the occult school of the Universal White Brotherhood .

The mountain hut is a massive two-story house with an annex. They have a capacity of 92 beds in 2, 3, 4 and 6-bed rooms and "tourist beds" (so-called Narowe [Bulgar. Нарове] - a lightly padded row of boards - a kind of "plank row") in mass dormitories.

Power is supplied by a hydroelectric generator. There is no water connection, instead the water from the nearby lake is used. There are no baths in the mountain hut. The sanitary facilities are in the extension. There is a canteen and a dining room for tourists. A small stall (with some groceries) is only operated in summer.

Next to the mountain hut is a horse stable where the pack horses are kept. These horses are used to transport all goods required for the operation of the mountain hut.

There is also a 300 m long ski slope with a drag lift near the mountain hut.

The mountain hut is managed by the “Rilski turist” tourist group, a local branch of the Bulgarian Tourist Association .

The seven lakes mountain hut is sometimes referred to as the old seven lakes mountain hut in order to clearly distinguish it from the newer, much more modern and larger Rilaseen mountain hut , which was only built in the 1980s and is called the new Rilaseen mountain hut .
