Berlín in Colombia is a village and corregimiento on the Páramo de Santurbán plateau between Cúcuta and Bucaramanga on the national road 66 . The place belongs to the municipality of Tona in the department of Santander . Berlin has 659 inhabitants (as of 2006).

The small town is at 3302  m above sea level. NN . That is why the average temperature is only around 10 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature measured there was −11 degrees Celsius. Nevertheless, many children run barefoot and their ponchos can only insufficiently protect them from the cold and the wind.

The most important thing at the place is the petrol station for transit traffic, as the high mountain landscape with the extremely winding National Road 66 drives fuel consumption very high. The gas station was previously just an open window through which the fuel was pumped into the tank by hand via a hose. There are now three restaurants, a simple hotel and a police station.

The surrounding area is used for agriculture by the scattered farms, especially for growing maize . However, the higher elevations of the mountains, which rise up to 4350 m, prevent further cultivation. At the exit of the village there is a farm with embalmed sheep on the walls under the roof. They were used for certain magic practices that occur in rural areas.

The name of the place goes back to a coffee farm founded by German immigrants in the region in the 19th century , which was called Hacienda Berlín . The name first went over to a wide Páramo region between Bucaramanga and Pamplona , until finally only today's village was called that.
