Berlin: Hasenheide is a documentary by Nana Rebhahn from 2010 . It shows the very different residents and users of the Volkspark Hasenheide in Berlin, who, through their endearing quirks and habits, form their own microcosm.

action

In addition to the protagonists, who quite undisguised and self-confidently introduce themselves and the use of their beloved park, the park is also the focus of the film as a recreational space. Whether dog owners, nudists, footballers, playing children, sun worshipers, parrot lovers, tai chi students or devout Hindus who celebrate the laying of the foundation stone of a temple or celebrating Turks with a tamed falcon - they all find their refuge in this park. The focus is not only on citizens who use this park as a sports field, pub, nudist area or to run their dogs. But also the park as a natural space in the change of the seasons as well as the meadows, trees and paths that make up this recreation area are shown.

production

Nana Rebhahn shot this film with her own equipment and without external production over the course of two years.

criticism

"The film that leaves you in a pleasant serenity could have been a little longer - but maybe that just shows how good it has become."

- David Wagner, Der Tagesspiegel
