Berlin badge of honor
The Berlin badge of honor for special social commitment is awarded twice a year by the Berlin Senate to 12 deserving citizens. The award ceremony takes place in the summer and on December 5th, International Volunteer Day.
The badge of honor is awarded to people who have achieved outstanding merits through at least ten years of voluntary work in clubs, organizations and initiatives or in the care and accompaniment of people.
Right of proposal
Every citizen can submit a proposal to the Senate Department for Integration, Labor and Social Affairs by March 30th or September 30th . The proposal must contain personal information such as first and last name, birthday, nationality, occupation at the time of the proposal and address, information on titles, awards and honors already received, as well as a detailed reason for the proposal.
